On the 1851 census Edward lists his place of birth as Cockley Cley and his age as 45 - b. 1806 ... this agrees with the Cockley Cley baptism record.
Also shown on the same page is the baptism of a John Nichols in 1908.
This John Nichols is then shown on the 1851 census in Cockley Cley; so it cannot be the John Nichols born in Wicklewood ... and he was born in 1905.
The villages are only 20 miles apart; so the fact that Edward was in Wicklewood at least from 1826 could possibly mean that he and John (b. 1905) were in some way related. Unfortunately this John's baptism record cannot be found.
